🌱 ✨ @burmakava 🍵 🏝️

You walk into @burmakava and it’s like the moment in Chronicles of Narnia when Lucy walks through the closet. It’s got a jungle-cosmic-cozy-charming-visceral vibe. You don’t know anyone (yet) but you feel like you know everyone. There is a pool game going on (they host pool competitions). There is a small business meeting in the back in their private VIP room. A food vendor is selling Gourmet 😉 vegan food. Open laptops set atop the bar as people do work or write blogs. A yoga session is taking place in the attached courtyard. The music is always set to the right vibe and when you’re there you feel like you’re right where you need to be.

Kava is a small shrub grown in Pacific Islands. Islanders have used kava plants for centuries in social rituals, religious ceremonies, and medical purposes. The root and stump of the plant are ground down and made into a natural, non-alcoholic beverage. When consumed, the effect of the active ingredients in the kava plant is psychological and physiological relaxation. Kava root drinks relax the mind and body and induce a sense of calm and euphoria.

The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and always knows what to recommend. I get kava on tap but I typically ask the Kava tender what they suggest that day. Morning, day or night (open ‘til 2) you need make your way to Burma. Go by yourself the first time, then bring a friend. I promise you’ll become a regular.

Eat local, shop local, and stay healthy 💪 🌱

Enjoy!
